Hello, I'm Tucker Tejkl. I am the PK-12 Principal at Riverside (Cedar site).
A Little About Myself.
I am originally from Stanton, NE where I grew up on a farm showing cattle! I went to Stanton High School where I participated in sports year-round that included football, basketball, track, and baseball. I also really enjoyed being apart of our choir, show choir, band, jazz band, speech, and one-act teams as well! I went to Morningside College in Sioux City, IA where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Education specializing in Biology. Throughout my college career I also participated in football playing defensive back for the Mustangs.
After college I became a graduate assistant for the football team which lead me to my first job as Running Backs coach at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. After a year, I was hired at Gardner-Webb University, in Boiling Springs, NC and I was their Special Teams Coordinator and also the corners coach. It was a great experience and really opened my eyes to our diverse world. After my time there, I moved to Denver, CO where I received my first teaching job at Denver Center of International Studies in Montebello. I was a 7th grade science teacher and taught over 140 students!
I had the opportunity to move closer to home, for both me and my wife, and took a job at Battle Creek Public Schools in Battle Creek, NE. I was the 7th (Life), 8th (Earth), and 10th (Biology) grade science teacher. During my time at BC, I was also an assistant football (1 year) and assistant basketball (4 years) coach. This will be my first year as a principal and I am very honored to have the opportunity here at Riverside!
My wife's name is Kylie and she is a nurse at Albion Medical Center in Albion, NE. We have been happily married for nearly four years (Oct. 27th)! She is my foundation and wouldn't be where I am without her so I am very lucky and thankful! We have two wonderful boys; Weston (4) and Cohen (2). They love to be active and running around doing anything and everything!
